1. Resident Engineer - IBM Power Systems & AIXPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced IBM Power Systems & AIX Resident Engineer to provide onsite administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance and operational support for enterprise IBM Power infrastructure. The engineer will act as the primary onsite technical resource for IBM Power, AIX, PowerVM, VIOS and HMC operations and will be accountable for system availability, stability, performance, security and SLA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

·       Perform daily health monitoring of IBM Power servers and associated hardware components.

·       Manage and troubleshoot LPARs, profiles, processor/memory allocation and Dynamic LPAR operations where applicable.

·       Administer IBM AIX 7.x environments, including patching, Technology Levels, Service Packs and interim fixes.

·       Manage AIX LVM, filesystems, volume groups, logical volumes, physical volumes and paging space.

·       Troubleshoot AIX boot, filesystem, CPU, memory, paging, networking, storage and performance issues.

·       Use nmon, topas, vmstat, iostat, lparstat, sar and errpt for proactive monitoring and diagnostics.

·       Administer PowerVM and VIOS, including virtual SCSI, virtual Fibre Channel, NPIV and Shared Ethernet Adapter.

·       Maintain and validate dual-VIOS redundancy and virtual adapter mappings.

·       Administer HMC, managed-system connectivity, LPAR profiles, backups and approved HMC updates.

·       Support PowerHA SystemMirror/HACMP environments where deployed, including failover/failback and DR exercises.

·       Coordinate with Storage/SAN teams for LUN provisioning, FC connectivity, NPIV mappings and AIX multipathing.

·       Maintain AIX system backups using mksysb/savevg and support OS-level recovery and DR activities.

·       Perform capacity and performance analysis for CPU, memory, storage and I/O; recommend optimization actions.

·       Support security hardening, vulnerability remediation, access controls and audit/compliance requirements.

·       Perform incident, problem and change management; prepare MOPs, rollback plans, pre-checks and post-checks.

·       Coordinate hardware break-fix, firmware/microcode planning and OEM/TPM escalations.

Experience & Qualifications

·       Strong troubleshooting, documentation and change-management capability.

·       Relevant IBM Power / AIX / PowerVM certification preferred.
