Job Purpose:

• To lead the development of commercially successful fashion collections that reflect the Company’s brand identity, customer needs and business objectives. The role is responsible for translating market insights into strong collection concepts and overseeing the design process from initial concept to final production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead fashion trend, customer, market and competitor research to identify relevant design and commercial opportunities.
• Develop seasonal collection concepts, mood boards, colour palettes, fabric directions, prints, silhouettes and key design elements.
• Design commercially appealing products that are aligned with the brand direction, target customers, price positioning and sales objectives.
• Present collection concepts and design proposals to Management and relevant stakeholders for review and approval.
• Develop and review design sketches, technical drawings, tech packs, measurements and product specifications.
• Work closely with Merchandising, Production, Marketing, Retail and other relevant teams to ensure that each collection meets the agreed direction, timeline, costing and launch requirements.
• Select and approve suitable fabrics, trims, colours, prints and other design components.
• Lead fitting and sample review sessions, provide clear comments and approve design changes before production.
• Monitor the development of prototypes, samples and final products to ensure consistency with the approved design and quality standards.
• Identify potential design and quality, costing, material sourcing, sample development and recommend timely solutions.
• Manage design timelines and ensure that designs, samples and approvals are completed according to the collection calendar.
• Review product performance and customer feedback and apply the findings to future collections.
• Guide, coach and review the work of Junior Fashion Designers and other design team members.
• Support photoshoots, styling, fashion shows, campaigns, product launches and other brand activities when required.
• Maintain proper design records and ensure that confidential designs and intellectual property are protected.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design or a related field.
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant fashion design experience, preferably within a fashion retail or apparel company.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, fitting, measurements, pattern-making principles and production processes.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of other relevant fashion design software is an advantage.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical capability and commercial fashion awareness.
• Experience in managing the full design process, from concept development to production.
• Able to analyse trends and translate them into designs that suit the brand and target customers.
• Strong project management, presentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lead and guide junior team members.
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple collections and deadlines.
• Willing to attend sourcing activities, production visits and business-related travel when required.
