Role Description The Assistant Manager Human Resources is a full-time, on-site role based in Bukit Mertajam. This position supports the HR Manager in overseeing end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement. The role involves administering HR policies and procedures, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and company standards. The Assistant Manager Human Resources will coordinate training and development programs, support succession planning initiatives, and assist in managing compensation and benefits processes. The role also includes handling employee relations matters, supporting HR-related reporting and analytics, and collaborating with other departments to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in recruitment, onboarding, and talent acquisition, with experience in sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
  • Competence in performance management, employee engagement, and handling employee relations in a fair and confidential manner.
  • Ability to administer HR policies, maintain HR documentation, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience coordinating training, development, and HR-related programs to support staff growth and organizational needs.
  • Proficiency in HR information systems, MS Office applications, and preparation of HR reports and analytics.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; professional HR certification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in an HR supervisory or assistant manager role, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar operational environment.
