Design Architect / Technical Project Consultant

Location: Singapore | Type: Contract, [12 months, renewable] | Salary: S$6,500/month
Start: Within 2–3 weeks

Flare Consulting is hiring a Design Architect to act as technical authority. You will own architecture governance, lead design reviews and serve as the senior escalation point across engineering teams.

What you’ll do

• Chair Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR), and review and approve solution designs against operational, security and customer requirements
• Validate Method of Procedures (MOPs) before implementation
• Run proof-of-concepts and solution demos for customers and stakeholders
• Act as Level 3 escalation for complex incidents, driving root cause analysis and corrective action
• Assess firmware updates, bug reports, security advisories and vulnerability findings, and recommend remediation
• Provide technical oversight across planning, design, implementation and transition of medium to large projects
• Mentor engineers and uphold technical standards across the team

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field
• 4–6 years in technical design, architecture, system integration or infrastructure engineering
• Hands-on knowledge of networking (Cisco / Alcatel-Lucent) and firewalls (Check Point / Palo Alto / Fortinet)
• Broad infrastructure exposure: servers, storage, virtualisation or cloud, and backup
• Experience in vulnerability assessment and remediation
• Background in large enterprise or defence environments; SI experience preferred
• Relevant certifications in architecture, networking, security, cloud or infrastructure
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, and comfortable deciding independently.
