Position Objective:

The Manager of Cloud Operations (Windows) is responsible for leading the delivery and continuous improvement of Windows-based platform services across AIA business units, leveraging AIA’s enterprise cloud platform, primarily on Microsoft Azure.

This role drives operational excellence across day-to-day service operations, including incident, change, request, and problem management, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and resilience. It focuses on the design, optimization, and governance of Windows platform services through advanced administration, automation, and performance tuning.

The role also contributes to cloud transformation and workload modernization initiatives by promoting best practices, guiding platform and infrastructure design decisions, and enhancing platform capabilities in alignment with enterprise standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead Windows platform operations, ensuring availability, scalability, and resilience

• Drive day-to-day service management, including 24/7 support, ensuring service stability

• Lead incident resolution and RCA, implementing preventive and automated solutions

• Provide advisory on Windows platform adoption, guiding infrastructure and platform design

• Drive workload modernization advisory, recommending cloud-based infrastructure and platform patterns

• Enable onboarding to Windows platform services, ensuring platform readiness and alignment with enterprise standards

• Define and enforce governance, standards, and security controls across Windows environments

• Drive automation, configuration management, and observability, improving efficiency and performance

• Provide technical leadership, supporting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous platform improvement

Minimum Job Requirements:

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in Windows Server administration, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Platform roles

• Proven experience in enterprise Windows platform management across cloud and hybrid environments

• Strong background in Azure IaaS, infrastructure operations, and workload migration

• Experience defining and improving platform standards, operating models, and governance practices

• Demonstrated ability to work in global, cross-functional environments and engage stakeholders

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure (Administrator/Architect), Windows Server, or ITIL preferred

• Operating Systems & Core Services: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy

• Compute & Virtualization: Azure Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Hyper-V (optional)

• Storage & Backup: Azure Managed Disks, Azure Files, Azure Backup

• Networking: Azure Virtual Network (VNet), Network Security Groups (NSG), Load Balancer, Private Endpoints

• Monitoring & Observability: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, VM Insights, performance monitoring and tuning

• Security: RBAC, Windows security hardening, patching, identity and access management

• Resiliency & Protection: Azure Site Recovery (ASR), backup and disaster recovery practices

• Automation & Configuration: PowerShell scripting, Azure CLI, ARM/Terraform (exposure), configuration management
