Company Description

Ardent Educational Consultants Sdn Bhd (ArdentEdu) is a company that specializes in developing modules and products for various educational subjects, including science, mathematics, and computational thinking education. ArdentEdu has organized 4 academic competitions such as Kangaroo Mathematics, Beaver Computational Thinking, Kancil Science, Economics Explorer. We are located in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.

Role Description

The Graphic Designer in Book Publishing you will lead the visual design, layout modeling, and illustration process for educational book titles, competition guidebooks (such as the Kangaroo Math Competition and Kancil Science Competition). You will translate highly abstract mathematical equations, scientific diagrams, and problem-solving solutions into intuitive, engaging, and clear visual assets optimized for primary and secondary school students.

Qualifications

  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, with specific mastery in Adobe InDesign (multi-page textbook layouts), Photoshop (image editing and cover illustration), and Illustrator (vector graphics and typography treatments)
  • Advanced comprehension of formal typography, typesetting principles (kerning, tracking, leading), page architecture, grid systems, and color theory.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn basic LaTeX frameworks or academic typesetting structures is highly valued
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity
  • Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines
  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and creative skills.
  • Experience or interest in the education industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Publication Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or an equivalent creative field.

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
