Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Public Area Cleaner position, officially known onboard as Utility/Hotel Custodial. The successful candidate will clean and maintain guest public areas, crew areas and back-of-house spaces while supporting high standards of hygiene and guest service.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Public Area Cleaner, Room Attendant, Housekeeping Attendant or in a similar position within a 4-star or 5-star hotel, resort or hospitality environment.

• Previous hotel or shipboard experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of floor care, including the use of floor-cleaning equipment.

• Able to work safely with cleaning chemicals, materials and housekeeping tools.

• Good English communication skills.

• Physically fit and able to walk or stand for extended periods and handle items weighing 50+ lbs.

• Guest-focused, service-oriented and able to assist guests with directions or general information.

• Flexible and able to work both day and night shifts as required.

• Professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards.

• Good knowledge of public health, sanitation and workplace safety requirements.

Salary

• Salary: USD 950

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Clean and maintain guest public areas, back-of-house spaces and crew areas.

• Vacuum, dust, polish and sanitise staircases, landings, restrooms, launderettes and other assigned areas.

• Perform floor-care duties, including shampooing, stripping and waxing.

• Operate floor-cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.

• Remove dirty dishes and glassware from public areas.

• Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or repair requirements.

• Assist guests with directions and general information when required.

• Handle waste disposal and separation according to public health procedures.

• Support special guest deliveries and luggage duties during embarkation and disembarkation.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming and guest comfort.

• Follow all public health, environmental, PPE, safety, security and emergency procedures.

• Work across housekeeping or custodial areas according to operational requirements.
