Junior Clinical Sonographer

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Sonographer to join our hospital’s imaging department. This role offers an excellent entry-level opportunity to build a robust clinical foundation in both Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) and General Ultrasound Imaging under the guidance of senior staff and radiologists.

Key Responsibilities

Routine Imaging & Clinical Execution

• O&G Scans: Perform routine early pregnancy confirmations, dating scans, growth monitoring, anatomy scans and pelvic evaluations (transabdominal and transvaginal).
• General Scans: Conduct routine health screening and general scans
• Emergency Support: Assist in performing urgent scans for stable patients originating from inpatient wards.

Workflow & Patient Care

• Patient Preparation: Verify patient identities, crosscheck clinical indications against physician orders, explain procedures, and ensure maximum patient comfort.
• Preliminary Reporting: Document initial sonographic findings, take standard measurement sets, and present cases to senior sonographers or radiologists for final review.
• Hygiene & Compliance: Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) of endocavity transducers and keep scanning rooms stocked and sanitized between patients.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging or Health Sciences, Postgraduate Diploma in Sonography or ADMU as recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
• Experience: Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of clinical experience. Hospital internship exposure is highly regarded.
• Core Competencies: Basic proficiency in operating ultrasound machines, understanding acoustic physics, and identifying standard anatomical landmarks.
• Attributes: Eager to learn, highly receptive to clinical feedback, and possessing the strong communication skills needed to soothe anxious patients.
