Automation & Performance Testing Lead

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation & Performance Testing Lead to lead test automation and performance testing activities for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in automation frameworks, Java programming, Apache JMeter, and CI/CD integration, together with proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites.
• Monitor automation execution results, troubleshoot failures, and improve test reliability.
• Maintain automation frameworks using Playwright with Java, Selenium, and Appium.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure and maintain Jenkins jobs and pipelines.
• Provide technical guidance and support to automation framework users.
• Recruit, train, and mentor automation engineers.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and other stakeholders to improve testing efficiency.

Performance Testing & Monitoring

• Define performance testing strategies for applications, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Design and execute load, stress, endurance/soak, spike, and scalability tests.
• Develop and maintain performance test suites using Apache JMeter.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimisation strategies.
• Monitor application and infrastructure metrics during test execution.
• Work closely with Development, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to investigate performance issues.
• Prepare performance assessment reports, including findings and recommendations.
• Promote performance engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in software testing, including relevant leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium.
• Strong Java programming skills.
• Advanced or expert-level experience with Apache JMeter.
• Solid understanding of performance testing methodologies, including load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability testing.
• Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Strong experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD integration.
• Proven ability to analyse performance bottlenecks and monitor system resources.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or training automation testing engineers.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across technical teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Argo Workflows (ArgoWF).
• Experience with Appium and Robot Framework.
• Familiarity with cloud-based automation execution and cloud-native performance testing.
• Experience with Xray or other test management tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or ELK.

Pay: RM9,500.00 - RM11,500.00 per month
