Senior Barista Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and passionate Senior Barista to join our team. The Senior Barista will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, maintaining consistent beverage standards, assisting with daily operations, and supporting the team in providing excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge of specialty coffee, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow with the team.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

• Prepare coffee and beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in coffee extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and beverage presentation.
• Perform daily coffee preparation, including grinder calibration and espresso dialing-in.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the coffee station.
• Properly operate and care for espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment.

Daily Operations

• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and adequately stocked.
• Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, and other beverage supplies.
• Assist with stock counting, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients.
• Minimize wastage and ensure proper handling of ingredients.
• Follow company SOPs, food safety, and hygiene standards.

Team Support

• Assist and guide junior baristas and team members during daily operations.
• Support the training of new team members in beverage preparation and bar procedures.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive working environment.
• Assist the supervisor or management with daily operational matters.

Customer Service

• Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
• Understand customer preferences and provide suitable recommendations.
• Handle customer feedback professionally and escalate issues to the supervisor when necessary.
• Help maintain a welcoming and enjoyable customer experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year or more of barista experience.
• Good knowledge and understanding of specialty coffee.
• Basic knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
• Responsible, positive, and hardworking with a good attitude.
• Willing to learn and develop coffee and service skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work shifts, overtime (OT), weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Barista or coffee-related certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
