About the Role

The Junior Project Manager will support and manage the delivery of IT and cybersecurity projects from initiation through completion. The role involves planning project activities, coordinating technical teams and stakeholders, monitoring project progress, managing risks and issues, and ensuring deliverables meet agreed scope, timelines, and quality requirements.

The successful candidate should be proactive, organised, and able to communicate effectively with clients, technical teams, vendors, and management.

Responsibilities

1. Support and manage the delivery of IT and cybersecurity projects throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.

3. Coordinate internal technical teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project activities progress as planned.

4. Monitor project progress, resource requirements, scope, risks, issues, and dependencies.

5. Identify potential project risks, issues, and delays, and work with relevant stakeholders to develop mitigation or resolution plans.

6. Conduct project meetings, document key decisions, and ensure action items are followed up and closed.

7. Prepare project status reports, progress updates, and management presentations.

8. Maintain project documentation, change requests, risk and issue registers, and other project records.

9. Monitor project performance against agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

10. Manage client expectations, maintain stakeholder relationships, and communicate project updates effectively.

11. Coordinate project acceptance, closure, and handover to support or Business- as-Usual (BAU) teams.

12. Support multiple projects concurrently where required.

Requirements

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Project Management, or a related field.

2. 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably within IT or cybersecurity.

3. Experience working with technical or engineering teams is an advantage.

4. Good understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and project delivery processes.

5. Strong planning, coordination, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

6. Good documentation, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

7. Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.

8. Familiarity with cybersecurity technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, Security Operations Centre (SOC), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), cloud security, vulnerability management, or network security is an advantage.

9. Project management certification such as CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is an advantage.

10. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
