Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Pastry Commis to join our pastry team. Working under the guidance of the Head Pastry Chef / Pastry Supervisor, you will assist in day-to-day baking, dessert production, preparation of doughs/pastries, and maintaining food safety standards in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Baking: Assist in preparing ingredients, doughs, batters, creams, fillings, and glazes according to standard recipes.
• Baking & Finishing: Operate ovens and kitchen equipment to bake bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies; assist with basic decorating and plating.
• Station Prep (Mise en Place): Ensure the pastry station is fully stocked, organized, and prepared before each production shift or service peak.
• Hygiene & Safety: Maintain strict standards of kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene, personal sanitation, and correct storage of perishable ingredients.
• Stock & Inventory Care: Help monitor shelf life, store ingredients correctly (FIFO - First In, First Out), and report low stock or expired supplies to supervisors.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure baking tools, mixers, ovens, and work surfaces are washed, sanitized, and properly maintained after use.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma in Culinary Arts / Pastry Arts, or equivalent hands-on bakery experience.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 1 year of basic pastry kitchen experience are welcome.
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient measurements, and kitchen safety.
• Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a passion for baking.
• Punctual, disciplined, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Able to stand for extended periods and work early morning shifts, weekends, or public holidays as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
