CNC Turning Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Turning Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC turning and lathe machines for the production of precision-engineered components. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience in CNC turning operations, FANUC control programming, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and meet specified dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC turning and lathe machines, including installing chucks, tool holders, cutting tools, and fixtures.
Perform CNC programming using FANUC control systems and make necessary program adjustments to meet production requirements.
Load raw materials, conduct trial runs, and operate production cycles for turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
Adjust tool offsets, cutting speeds, feeds, and machine settings to achieve the required dimensions and surface finish.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments, including vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Identify machining defects, troubleshoot operational issues, and carry out corrective adjustments to maintain product quality.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure CNC machines and tools are maintained in good working condition.
Maintain accurate production and inspection records while ensuring compliance with workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in CNC turning and lathe machine operations.
Experience in FANUC control programming is required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledge of machining processes, precision measurement, dimensional tolerances, and quality inspection.
Relevant vocational certification or an equivalent mechanical engineering background.
Good technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
