Mokara is looking for a warm, organised Pre-school Manager to lead the growth and quality of our pre-school and early-childhood movement programme. This is a leadership role for someone who loves early-years teaching and believes in learning through movement and play.
You'll shape the structure and quality of the programme: organising camps and events, strengthening lesson planning, and developing the teaching team through classroom-based training and clear progression pathways. You don't need to be a gymnastics coach; what matters is strong early-childhood knowledge and a genuine love of being active, with a background in dance, performing arts or sports.
What you'll do
Pre-school programme structure and quality
- Work closely with programme leadership to strengthen the structure, consistency and quality of the pre-school programme.
- Assist in the creation, refinement and implementation of lesson plans for pre-school classes across age groups and levels.
- Help maintain clear standards for class objectives, teacher expectations, child progressions and teaching quality, grounded in early-childhood development principles.
Camps, events and family engagement
- Create, organise and manage pre-school camps, holiday programmes, special events and showcases in collaboration with programme leadership.
- Ensure events are well-structured, well-staffed, engaging and age-appropriate, aligned with Mokara's standards, with warm, clear communication to parents throughout.
- Support operational planning for camps and events — scheduling, staffing support, logistics and programme flow.
Teacher onboarding and classroom training
- Lead classroom-based training for new teaching staff, including those new to a movement-based pre-school setting.
- Create a structured, documented set of training materials that any experienced early-childhood educator can use to train new staff.
- Teach foundational concepts — class structure, child supervision, safety expectations, age-appropriate movement activities, equipment usage and early-childhood teaching methods.
- Support the onboarding and development of new teachers so they can lead classes confidently and professionally within Mokara's system.
Teacher development and progression
- Provide ongoing training and education for teachers seeking to progress to higher levels or new age groups.
- Help newer teachers learn to lead more advanced pre-school classes through structured education, observation and guided development.
- Contribute to a culture of professional growth — improving teachers' communication, classroom management and child engagement — and work with programme leadership to identify development pathways across the team.
What we're looking for
- A degree in Early Childhood or Primary Education.
- Proven experience teaching or working in a pre-school / early-childhood setting, with strong knowledge of early-childhood development.
- A background in movement — dance, performing arts or sports — and a genuine enjoyment of being active (formal coaching qualifications are not required).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across the pre-school programme.
- Ability to communicate professionally in English, both spoken and written.
- CPR / First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Genuine enjoyment of working with young children, and active and enthusiastic about movement — bringing energy and warmth to the classroom.
- Strong attention to detail in lesson quality, safety standards and class structure.
- Team-first mindset: collaborative, coachable, professional and ego-free.
Bonus points
- Experience in programme management, curriculum design, lesson planning or staff training.
