About the Role

We run several in-house systems (partly built with AI assistance) that are live and used daily in our operations. We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer to take full ownership of these systems: maintaining, improving, and building on them as our core technical person.

This is a fully remote role. It suits someone who is self-driven, communicates clearly, and enjoys turning systems that “work” into systems that are reliable, secure, and well-built.

Responsibilities

System Maintenance

• Take over and maintain our existing systems, including their codebases, databases, and deployment setups
• Fix bugs and resolve incidents to keep systems running smoothly
• Monitor server and system performance, and resolve issues proactively
• Set up and manage backup and recovery processes

Optimization & Development

• Review and clean up existing code, fix security vulnerabilities, and improve performance
• Standardize architecture and deployment workflows across all systems
• Build new features, reports, and automation tools based on business needs
• Integrate third-party APIs and services
• Work with the founder to review and refine AI-generated code before it goes to production

Documentation & Ownership

• Write technical documentation for each system (architecture, database schema, deployment steps)
• Manage code repositories (Git), servers, domains, SSL, and other technical assets
• Give regular progress updates (e.g. weekly reports or short calls)
• Provide remote technical support to staff when needed

Requirements

• 3+ years of Full Stack development experience
• Proven experience taking over and maintaining code written by others
• Frontend: [React / Vue / Next.js]
• Backend: [Node.js / Python / PHP]
• Database: [MySQL / PostgreSQL / Supabase], including query optimization
• Comfortable with Linux servers and cloud deployment ([Vercel / AWS / VPS])
• Proficient with Git
• Strong security awareness (SQL injection, XSS, API access control, etc.)
• Experienced with AI coding tools (Cursor / Claude / Copilot) and able to judge the quality of AI-generated code
• Previous remote work experience preferred
• Self-disciplined and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Clear written communication, and responsive on chat during working hours
• Stable internet connection and a suitable home work setup
• Available for urgent production issues when needed
• Good communication in English;

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and CI/CD
• Experience building systems
• A track record of turning messy legacy systems into clean, maintainable ones

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
