Environmental Scientist

ESC Environment Singapore Pte Ltd operates in the environmental consulting field. The Environmental Scientist will support environmental studies, field investigations, data analysis and the preparation of technical reports for projects involving environmental assessment and management.

This position is suitable for someone with a scientific background who enjoys combining fieldwork with research, technical analysis and practical environmental problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental field surveys, site inspections and sampling activities as required by project specifications.
• Collect, organise and analyse environmental data relating to air quality, water quality, soil conditions and other relevant environmental parameters.
• Assist with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), environmental baseline studies and other environmental investigations.
• Prepare technical reports, assessment documents, data summaries and project findings.
• Review environmental regulations, guidelines and technical standards relevant to assigned projects.
• Support environmental monitoring programmes and evaluate results against applicable requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams, laboratories, clients and other relevant parties to obtain information and complete project tasks.
• Identify potential environmental risks and contribute to recommendations for mitigation and management.
• Maintain accurate field records, sampling logs, photographs and supporting documentation.
• Assist with project planning, progress tracking and the timely submission of deliverables.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Relevant experience in environmental consulting, monitoring, assessment or research is an advantage.
• Familiarity with environmental sampling, data collection and basic scientific analysis.
• Able to interpret technical information and prepare clear, well-organised reports.
• Good understanding of environmental protection principles and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS or environmental data analysis tools is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to handling data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in fieldwork and travel to project sites when required.

The role combines field-based investigations with office-based analysis and reporting. Candidates should be comfortable working with scientific data, following established sampling procedures and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams. A practical mindset, accuracy and the ability to meet project deadlines are important for success in this position.

Pay: $3,500.00 - $5,000.00 per month
