Job Purpose

To provide competent electrical supervision and technical support for the Low Voltage (LV) electrical works throughout the construction, testing, commissioning and handover stages of the Heineken Lestari Project. The Chargeman shall support the M&E Engineer in ensuring that electrical installations are carried out safely, correctly and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements and project procedures

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor LV electrical installation works by subcontractors.
• Inspect electrical installation, workmanship and materials.
• Check installation against approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor installation of LV switchboards, DBs, cables, cable trays/trunking, containment, earthing and associated electrical systems.
• Identify defective, incomplete or non-compliant works and report to the M&E Engineer.
• Assist in resolving electrical site issues and construction constraints.
• Assist in inspection, testing and commissioning of LV electrical systems.
• Maintain proper testing and commissioning records
• Witness electrical testing and verify test results.
• Assist with pre-energisation inspections and readiness checks.
• Support safe energisation and de-energisation of LV systems within the limits of the Chargeman's competency.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults during testing and commissioning.
• Ensure safe electrical working practices are followed at all times.
• Implement and monitor electrical isolation and LOTO procedures.
• Ensure appropriate electrical permits and switching procedures are followed.
• Stop or report unsafe electrical work immediately.
• Monitor temporary electrical supplies and construction power installations.
• Report electrical hazards, incidents and abnormal conditions to the M&E Engineer.
• Coordinate LV electrical works with mechanical, HVAC, ELV, fire protection, process and other M&E services.
• Attend site coordination and technical meetings when required.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with equipment and specialist subcontractors.
• Assist in resolving clashes and coordination issues affecting electrical works.
• Assist with electrical inspections and Inspection Requests (IR).
• Support closure of electrical defects, NCRs and snagging items.
• Maintain records of electrical inspections, testing and energisation.
• Assist with preparation and verification of as-built drawings, test certificates and handover documents.
• Support Client/Consultant inspections.
• Assist in preparing LV systems for testing, commissioning and handover.
• Participate in pre-handover inspections.
• Verify that electrical systems are operational and ready for Client use.
• Support preparation of O&M manuals, test records and other electrical handover documentation.
• Assist the Operation Team during the transition from construction to operation.

Requirement

• Valid Suruhanjaya Tenaga Chargeman A0 competency certificate.
• Competent in Low Voltage electrical systems below 1,000V.
• Relevant experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, commercial or building projects.
• Good knowledge of LV electrical installation, testing and troubleshooting.
• Able to read electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Good understanding of electrical safety, isolation and LOTO procedures.
• Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with contractors and M&E personnel.

Preferred

• Chargeman A4-2 or A4 competency.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing projects.
• Experience in LV switchboards, generators, MCCs, DBs and building services.
• Experience in testing, commissioning and energisation of LV systems.
