Role Purpose

To carry out and support Quality Control (QC) inspection activities for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) works, primarily for Data Centre projects, and Oil & Gas projects as and when required. The role ensures that installation works, materials, testing activities, and quality documentation comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Inspection & Control

• Conduct routine inspections of electrical and E&I installation works at project sites in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, ITPs, and applicable standards.
• Inspect Data Centre electrical installations, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, distribution boards, busducts, cable containment, cable laying and termination, earthing and bonding, and other electrical systems, as applicable to the project scope.
• Verify the quality of materials, equipment, workmanship, installation practices, and completed works against approved project requirements.
• Carry out inspections at relevant construction stages, including installation, pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning.
• Identify, record, and report non-conformances, defects, and workmanship issues, and follow up on corrective actions until closure.
• Support QC inspection activities for Oil & Gas projects when required, including electrical and instrumentation installation, instrument hook-up, cable termination, instrument calibration, and other relevant E&I works.
• Ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with approved inspection procedures, quality requirements, and applicable project standards.

Inspection, Testing & Commissioning

• Perform and witness electrical inspection and testing activities in accordance with approved procedures and the assigned level of responsibility.
• Verify test results and records for activities such as cable continuity, insulation resistance, earth continuity, earthing resistance, and other applicable electrical tests.
• Support inspections and verification of electrical equipment installation, cable routing, termination, identification, and equipment labelling.
• Assist with inspection and testing of instrumentation systems, including loop checks, instrument calibration, and functional testing, where applicable.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), pre-commissioning, commissioning, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), where required by the project.
• Verify that inspection and testing activities are completed and documented before requesting approval or proceeding to the next stage of work.

Quality Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare, review, and maintain Inspection Requests (IRs), Inspection and Test Records, checklists, test reports, and other relevant QC documentation.
• Ensure inspection records and test results are accurate, complete, traceable, and properly maintained.
• Assist in the preparation, compilation, and close-out of quality dossiers and project handover documentation.
• Maintain records of non-conformance reports (NCRs), site observations, corrective actions, and inspection status.
• Ensure all quality documentation is submitted in accordance with project procedures and agreed submission timelines.

Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with project engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives on inspection activities and quality-related matters.
• Arrange and attend inspections with clients, consultants, main contractors, and relevant third parties, as required.
• Monitor ongoing site activities to ensure compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company QHSE policies, site safety requirements, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external quality audits, site quality reviews, and other quality-related activities when required.
• Be prepared to work at Data Centre and Oil & Gas project sites, including travel or reassignment in accordance with project requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. No prior QC, inspection, construction, Data Centre, or Oil & Gas experience is required.
• Candidates with internship, industrial training, or academic project exposure in electrical, E&I, M&E, or construction works will have an added advantage, but this is not a requirement.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings are preferred.
• Willingness to learn electrical and instrumentation inspection procedures, testing requirements, quality documentation, and applicable project standards.
• Good communication, documentation, coordination, and organisational skills.
• Able to work on-site and coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Willing to travel or be deployed to different project locations, including Data Centre and Oil & Gas projects, as required.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to maintaining quality, safety, and professional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Initially based at the Company's Data Centre project sites, with deployment to other project locations, including Oil & Gas projects, as and when required by Macain Energy Services Sdn Bhd.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
