Job Scope

• Plan, monitor and control laboratory and work functionally with Ore Room operations, encompassing sampling, tin assay and impurity analysis to support quality control functions, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of analysis for the efficient and error-free operations of the receiving, sampling and analytical results for products and services.
• Supervise laboratory activities to ensure analytical accuracy, operational efficiency, compliance with applicable quality standards and effective support to smelting and refinery operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and control necessary lab processes to determine accuracy of tin and impurity content of ore and analyse other materials as received and required for processing are weighed, sampled and analyzed in accordance to set procedures.
• Supervise and review laboratory analytical activities performed by Chemists and laboratory personnel to ensure compliance with approved procedures, quality standards and operational requirements.
• Strict adherence procedures to observe and avoid any bias or inaccuracies in results which are used for commercial settlement with clients and suppliers.
• Monitor and ensure proper implementation of analytical procedures for tin assay, impurity analysis and laboratory sample preparation to maintain quality, consistency and accuracy of analytical findings.
• Keep abreast of current analytical techniques, technological developments and industry practices, and provide technical advice to Management on commercial analytical disputes and laboratory-related matters.
• Review and improve existing sampling, assaying and analytical methods to enhance operational efficiency, analytical reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Devote adequate time to on-site supervision to ensure subordinate staff perform duties in accordance with established procedures, safety requirements and work expectations.
• Be conversant with manpower utilization, work assignment and operational requirements within the laboratory functions under supervision.
• Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure analytical results comply with required standards and specifications.
• Execute first-line supervision of laboratory personnel to ensure analytical work is professionally carried out with accuracy, reliability and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain an effective laboratory workforce through continuous improvement of work methods, technical competency and staff performance.
• Monitor staff competency and identify training or development needs to support operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Ensure lab is capable to support the activities of the furnace and refinery operations.
• Implement, maintain and review laboratory guidelines and quality systems in accordance with the Company Quality System requirements.
• Lead and guide laboratory personnel on occupational safety, health and environmental matters relating to chemical handling and laboratory testing activities.
• Interpret, trend, document and report experimental data and test results accurately using relevant analytical, statistical and computer software.
• Establishes and review daily work plan of the laboratory activities to ensure samples are analyzed and analytical results are meeting the deadline agreed on;
• Responsible for the validation, establishment, modification and implementation of laboratory equipment and analytical methods, including maintaining sound technical understanding of equipment and methodologies used.
• Ensure all controlled procedures, work instructions, test methods, records and related documents are properly maintained, updated and kept confidential at all times.
• To participate in OHS program established by the Company.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
