About TPC

The Presenting Company is a Singapore-based production management company supporting concerts, theatre, festivals, corporate events and community productions.

With more than 17 years of experience, we work closely with artists, arts organisations, venues and production partners from initial planning through rehearsals and show day.

We are strengthening our technical production team as TPC develops its live-production services and explores how digital tools and new media can enhance audience experiences.

The opportunity

We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how a show works and wants to build a career in technical production.

You will help turn production requirements into clear drawings, organised technical information and practical preparation. You will also work onsite, supporting setups, rehearsals and live shows.

You will see how a production develops from the first plan to the final load-out, with opportunities to learn directly from experienced practitioners.

This is a junior role with guidance and progressively greater responsibility. Some practical production exposure and basic drawing ability are expected. School, internship, volunteer and freelance experience all count.

What you will do

Technical preparation and drawings

  • Create and update simple stage plans, venue layouts and equipment drawings using Vectorworks, AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Read technical plans and work with DWG and PDF files.
  • Assist with venue visits, site measurements and recording technical information.
  • Prepare equipment lists, setup notes and production checklists.
  • Keep drawings and documents accurate, clearly labelled and up to date.
  • Identify missing information or conflicting details and raise them with your supervisor.

Coordination and follow-through

  • Follow up on assigned requirements with venues, suppliers, crew and production partners.
  • Track outstanding information and agreed deadlines.
  • Record changes and communicate updates to the relevant people.
  • Prepare clear handovers so colleagues can find and understand your work.
  • Help update preparation and documents when production plans change.

As you develop, you will take ownership of agreed routine preparation tasks, with technical review and approval from your lead.

Rehearsals and live productions

  • Support load-ins, technical setups, rehearsals, changeovers and load-outs.
  • Assist sound, lighting, staging and audiovisual teams according to your assigned duties and training.
  • Check setups against approved plans and checklists.
  • Communicate faults, changes and practical concerns promptly.
  • Help investigate basic technical issues within your training and escalate unfamiliar or higher-risk matters.
  • Record useful learning and updates after each production.
What you should bring
Basic drawing ability

You should be able to read a simple stage plan and create or amend a basic scaled drawing using Vectorworks, AutoCAD or similar software. Coursework and personal-project examples are welcome.

Tell us which software you have used and what you personally produced.

Some practical production exposure

You should have participated in a live production, event, technical-theatre project or audiovisual setup, with a clear understanding of your contribution.

Familiarity with sound, lighting, staging, video playback or audiovisual signal flow is useful. We will assess your foundations and learning potential.

A dependable working approach

We value someone who:

  • Completes agreed tasks and flags delays early.
  • Checks details and asks questions when information is unclear.
  • Communicates respectfully with colleagues, artists and partners.
  • Responds constructively to feedback.
  • Adapts when schedules, priorities or production requirements change.
  • Works carefully, follows safety instructions and recognises when to seek help.
Guidance and development

You will have a designated supervisor who sets priorities, reviews your work and provides feedback. During productions, you will work under an assigned project or technical lead.

Your development will include production drawings, equipment planning, venue preparation, technical coordination and show operations.

Where suitable projects arise, you may also assist with playback, projection, livestreaming and supervised experiments involving interactive or immersive technology. These are development opportunities as TPC builds its capabilities.

Longer-term progression towards technical coordination and technical management will depend on demonstrated skills, reliability and readiness for greater responsibility.

What success looks like

During your first three months, we will look for:

  • Accurate updates to assigned drawings and documents.
  • Reliable completion of preparation checklists and supervised show duties.
  • Clear communication about missing information, changes and deadlines.
  • Improvement following feedback.

By six months, the aim is for you to handle an agreed set of routine preparation and coordination tasks with less prompting, while continuing to seek review where required.

Working arrangements

This role combines office-based preparation with onsite work at venues, rehearsals and live shows. It includes hands-on physical production work, such as setup, moving equipment and load-out tasks, under appropriate instruction.

Working hours and locations vary according to production schedules and client requirements. Evening, weekend, public-holiday and extended hours may be required, together with occasional overseas travel.

Live production can involve last-minute assignments and changes at short notice. You should be comfortable adapting to changing plans and communicating closely with the team.

Employment terms, including arrangements for additional hours, rest days, equipment and work-related expenses, will be discussed during recruitment and confirmed before appointment.

Selection process1. Interview and work discussion

We will discuss your experience, review existing examples and ask what you personally handled.

2. Paid practical assessment

Shortlisted candidates may complete a short plan-reading or drawing task and supervised practical activities. Candidates will receive a consistent core brief.

We will assess accuracy, questions asked, follow-through, communication, safety awareness and response to feedback.

The scope, duration, location and agreed payment will be provided beforehand.

3. Final discussion

We will discuss the role, support available, employment terms and suitability for both sides.
