ROLE OVERVIEW

We are a precision surface treatment company serving the semiconductor, medical, automation, and defence industries. We are seeking an experienced

Customer& Operations Engineer

to coordinate customer requirements across Production, Quality Control, and Management.

The role follows jobs from order through production, inspection, and delivery. Its primary focus is customer and technical coordination, with practical shopfloor support when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as a key contact for order status, delivery schedules and technical or quality enquiries.
• Coordinate drawings, specifications, inspection requirements and delivery expectations with customers, Production and QC.
• Track work-in-progress from Production through QC, packing, and delivery; follow up on outstanding jobs and flag risks early.
• Assist with production planning, job prioritization and scheduling.
• Provide customers and Management with accurate progress updates.
• Prepare delivery orders, inspection certificates, and supporting documents; ensure required documentation are complete before shipment.
• Coordinate customer quality issues, non-conformances, and documentation requests with QC and Management.
• Maintain accurate job trackers and support improvements to workflow, documentation, and cross-functional communication.
• Assist with shopfloor or production activities when operationally required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Chemistry or a related technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in precision engineering, manufacturing, production coordination or technical customer service.
• Experience coordinating among internal and external stakeholders (customers, Production and QC) is strongly preferred.
• Able to understand production flow, job routing, WIP status and delivery priorities.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, specifications, or technical requirements is preferred.
• Familiar with inspection reports, QC documentation, and manufacturing records is preferred.
• Confident communicating with customers and managing multiple jobs and priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working in non-air-conditioned shopfloor environments.
• Experience in surface treatment or related precision manufacturing is an advantage.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

This position is intended to be supported under a Career Conversion Programmed (CCP), subject to candidate eligibility and programmed approval. The successful candidate will undergo structured on-the-job training (OJT) in Decomet’s surface treatment processes, customer requirements, quality documentation and internal workflow, together with any applicable external training required under the approved CCP training plan.
