Solution Architect – AI & Data

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in enterprise architecture, supported by TOGAF certification and hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions across AI, Data or both.

This individual will play a pivotal role in defining and shaping technology architecture, translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure and future-ready solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, data specialists and senior technology leadership to drive architectural strategy, oversee solution design and ensure technology initiatives align with wider enterprise objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and develop end-to-end solution architectures aligned with enterprise technology strategy and business objectives.
• Apply TOGAF principles and frameworks to support enterprise architecture governance and solution design.
• Design scalable, secure and resilient technology architectures across cloud, data and AI environments.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical architecture, solution blueprints and implementation roadmaps.
• Lead architecture discussions and provide technical direction across engineering, infrastructure, data and application teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, architectural patterns and platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and optimisation.
• Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security policies, regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Provide architectural oversight throughout the development lifecycle, from initial design through to implementation.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or equivalent senior architecture role.
• TOGAF certification (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks and architectural governance.
• Demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas:
• AI / Artificial Intelligence
• AI/ML solution architecture and implementation.
• Generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation or AI-enabled platforms.
• AI integration, deployment and governance.
• Data Architecture
• Enterprise data architecture and data platform design.
• Data engineering, data integration and data management.
• Data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouse architectures or cloud data platforms.
• Data governance, quality and security.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience producing architecture diagrams, solution designs, technical documentation and roadmaps.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical audiences.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within financial services, banking, insurance or large enterprise environments.
• Exposure to cloud-native architecture, microservices and API-led integration.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience leading large-scale digital transformation or enterprise modernisation programmes.
• Relevant certifications across AWS, Azure, GCP, AI or Data platforms.
