Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will proactively identify and engage new customers, grow sales, and build lasting business relationships within the freight forwarding and logistics sector.

Responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential customers, including SMEs, importers, and businesses with shipping needs, to expand the client base
• Generate qualified leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, and customer visits to build a robust sales pipeline
• Analyze customers’ logistics requirements and recommend appropriate Shiplah! services to meet their needs
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to prepare accurate quotations, secure bookings, and onboard new accounts efficiently
• Develop and nurture customer accounts to encourage repeat business and increase sales volume
• Achieve sales and product-specific KPIs by managing an active sales pipeline and reporting progress to management regularly

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development; freight forwarding or logistics experience is advantageous
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills demonstrated through successful customer engagements
• Confidence in approaching new customers and closing sales deals effectively
• Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage sales pipeline and deliver measurable results
• Existing network of potential customers is a plus
