Kiat & Associates PLT is a Chartered Accountants firm providing audit, tax, accounting and advisory services across Malaysia since 1974. With offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Alor Setar, we serve corporate and individual clients, from small traders to large plantation and property development groups.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Audit Associate role at our Penang office in George Town. You will:

• Plan and perform statutory audits across various industries, including testing internal controls
• Prepare working papers, verify financial information and support audit reporting in line with professional standards
• Liaise with clients on documentation and audit queries
• Work with senior team members to meet engagement deadlines while upholding quality and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CPA or equivalent is an advantage
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial statements and basic tax concepts
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify variances and assess risk
• Ability to apply audit methodologies and professional standards
• Detail-oriented and organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and assignments
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in office and accounting software; audit tools experience is a plus
• Committed to ethics, confidentiality and continuous learning
