Our client, a well-established accounting and professional services firm, is looking for an experienced Accounting Team Lead to lead a team of accountants. The role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, review work quality, develop team capabilities and collaborate closely with Australian accountants and partners to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of close to 10 headcounts, providing day-to-day direction, support and guidance to ensure effective team performance.
• Oversee daily accounting operations and deliverables, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timelines.
• Act as the first-level reviewer of junior accountants’ work, ensuring quality and accuracy before final review by the Australian accounting team.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, particularly on complex accounting matters and accounting requirements.
• Monitor team workload, priorities, deadlines and work quality to ensure smooth and timely execution of accounting activities.
• Liaise and coordinate directly with Australian partners on accounting requirements, ongoing projects and operational matters.
• Coach and develop team members to strengthen their technical capabilities, communication skills and overall performance, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant Finance & Accounting experience, preferably within an accounting or professional services firm.
• Strong experience supporting Australian companies/clients and familiarity with Australian accounting practices and requirements.
• Proven experience in leading and developing accounting teams, with strong technical knowledge and ability to handle complex accounting matters.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with Australian partners and cross-functional teams.
