STUDIO MANAGER

Position Overview

The

Studio Manager

is responsible for the continued growth, performance and culture of FS8, with a strong focus on creating a

community-led, high-performing and welcoming studio environment

.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining

studio operations, team leadership, client management, business development, training, community engagement, marketing and partnerships

.

The Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the studio, lead and develop the trainer and front-of-house team, deliver exceptional client experiences, drive membership and revenue growth, and ensure the studio is maintained to the highest operational and presentation standards.

A key component of the role is being visible on the studio floor and building genuine relationships with clients. The Manager will deliver approximately

12 hours of client-facing training per week

, using this time to support client development, understand member needs, build relationships and strengthen the overall studio experience.

The successful candidate will be creative, energetic, organised and commercially minded, with a genuine passion for fitness and community. They will be expected to identify opportunities, develop new initiatives and help establish FS8 as a

community studio — not simply a place where people come to take a class.

Formal FS8 brand and methodology training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

1. Studio & Operational Management

Take overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the studio.

Manage studio opening and closing procedures, class set-up and pack-down, reception and front-of-house standards.

Oversee trainer schedules, cover requirements and studio timetable requirements.

Ensure all classes are adequately staffed and delivered to FS8 standards.

Maintain a clean, organised, safe and welcoming studio environment at all times.

Conduct regular checks of reformers, equipment, furniture and studio facilities.

Identify maintenance requirements and coordinate repairs or servicing where required.

Ensure equipment is appropriately maintained and reported when issues arise.

Manage studio supplies, stock and operational requirements.

Develop and maintain effective operational procedures and checklists.

Ensure all studio policies, procedures and brand standards are followed.

Monitor studio KPIs and use data to identify opportunities to improve performance.

2. Team Leadership & Staff Development

Lead, support and develop the studio team.

Work closely with trainers to ensure consistent delivery of the FS8 experience and methodology.

Support trainer onboarding, training and development.

Provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.

Assist with trainer scheduling, cover and performance management.

Create a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.

Identify opportunities to improve team performance and client experience.

Encourage trainers to actively participate in studio community initiatives and events.

Work with senior FS8 leadership on trainer development and ongoing education.

3. Client Training & Experience

The Manager will remain an active part of the studio floor and will deliver approximately

12 hours of client-facing training per week

.

Responsibilities include:
Deliver high-quality FS8 classes in accordance with FS8 methodology and standards.

Build strong relationships with clients through regular interaction and coaching.

Understand individual client goals, motivations and challenges.

Provide appropriate guidance and recommendations to support client progression.

Identify opportunities to improve the client journey and overall studio experience.

Welcome new clients and help them feel comfortable and connected to the studio.

Recognise regular clients and create a personalised experience.

Proactively identify clients who may need additional support, encouragement or follow-up.

Encourage consistency, progression and long-term engagement.

Gather client feedback and turn it into actionable improvements.

4. Client Management & Communication

The Manager will take ownership of the client relationship beyond the studio floor.

Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries across all communication channels.

Manage client communication through

Mindbody, Loyalsnap, WhatsApp, email and other relevant platforms

.

This includes weekly emails, promotion development and our corporate engagement.

Ensure leads and enquiries are followed up consistently and professionally.

Maintain accurate client records and notes within the client management system.

Monitor client attendance, engagement and purchasing behaviour.

Identify clients at risk of becoming inactive and implement appropriate re-engagement strategies.

Manage membership renewals, upgrades and conversions.

Communicate promotions, programs, events and studio initiatives.

Develop personalised client outreach where appropriate.

Ensure clients receive a high level of communication before, during and after their studio journey.

5. Mindbody & Client Management Systems

Take responsibility for the effective use and administration of

Mindbody

and associated client management systems.

This includes:
Managing client profiles and ensuring information is accurate.

Monitoring bookings, attendance, cancellations and no-shows.

Managing memberships, class packs and relevant client accounts.

Tracking leads and enquiries.

Monitoring client purchasing behaviour.

Supporting reporting and KPI tracking.

Identifying opportunities through client data.

Ensuring the team is appropriately trained in system use.

Maintaining consistent and accurate client records.

Using data to support retention, sales and community-building initiatives.

6. Business Development & Sales

The Manager will play a key role in driving the commercial performance and continued growth of the studio.

Responsibilities include:
Respond promptly and professionally to all enquiries.

Track and manage leads from initial enquiry through to conversion.

Implement systems to maximise enquiry-to-client conversion.

Promote and sell memberships, class packs, programs and studio services.

Meet and exceed agreed membership and sales targets.

Develop member sign-up, retention and renewal strategies.

Identify opportunities to increase client frequency and lifetime value.

Promote studio programs and initiatives consistently.

Develop strategies to increase class utilisation.

Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement.

Work with senior management on pricing, promotions and commercial initiatives.

Identify new revenue opportunities for the studio.

7. Community Development

A core objective of this role is to

build FS8 into a community studio

.

The Manager will be responsible for creating an environment where clients know the team, feel recognised and want to spend time at the studio.

This includes:
Developing a strong sense of community among members.

Creating opportunities for clients to connect with one another.

Developing regular studio celebrations and community events.

Celebrating client milestones, achievements and birthdays.

Creating member challenges and participation initiatives.

Developing social and wellness activities outside regular classes.

Encouraging trainers to actively engage with the studio community.

Creating initiatives that make clients feel recognised and valued.

Building relationships with local businesses and the wider MBFC community.

Identifying opportunities to make FS8 a destination within the local corporate and fitness community.

The goal is to create a studio where clients don't simply attend classes — they feel that they belong.

8. Studio Events, Celebrations & Initiatives

The Manager will be responsible for developing and executing initiatives that drive engagement and create memorable studio experiences.

Examples may include:
Member appreciation events.

Studio anniversary celebrations.

Birthday and milestone celebrations.

Fitness challenges.

Community workouts.

Wellness events.

Guest trainer sessions.

Corporate fitness initiatives.

Member competitions and incentives.

New program launches.

Seasonal campaigns.

Charity and community initiatives.

The Manager should continuously look for

new and creative ways to bring people into the studio and give existing clients a reason to remain engaged.

9. Partnerships & Collaborations

Develop and maintain relationships with relevant brands, businesses and organisations.

Responsibilities include:
Identify potential collaboration opportunities.

Develop partnerships with complementary fitness, health, wellness, beauty, food and lifestyle brands.

Build relationships with businesses within the MBFC and CBD community.

Develop corporate wellness opportunities.

Coordinate collaborative events and activations.

Negotiate and manage mutually beneficial partnership arrangements.

Ensure partnerships add genuine value to the FS8 client experience.

Track the performance and effectiveness of collaborations.

10. Marketing & Social Media

The Manager will work closely with the marketing team while taking an active role in the studio's local marketing and digital engagement.

Responsibilities include:
Support the development and execution of local marketing campaigns.

Create and identify opportunities for social media content.

Encourage trainers and clients to participate in content creation.

Promote studio events, offers, challenges and initiatives.

Engage with clients and the local community through social media.

Support Instagram and other digital channels with timely studio updates.

Identify local marketing opportunities within MBFC and Marina Bay.

Work with collaborative brands on joint marketing initiatives.

Ensure the studio's online presence reflects the energy and culture of the physical studio.

11. Training & Development

The Manager will receive formal FS8 brand and methodology training and will be expected to continually develop their own knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities include:
Complete all required FS8 training and education.

Maintain current knowledge of FS8 programming and methodology.

Participate in ongoing trainer development.

Support the development of the wider studio team.

Keep up to date with developments in the fitness and wellness industry.

Bring new ideas and best practices into the studio where appropriate.

Encourage a culture of continuous learning and development.

12. Cleaning, Maintenance & Studio Standards

The Manager is responsible for ensuring the studio consistently meets FS8 standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety.

This includes:
Ensuring reformers and equipment are cleaned and maintained regularly.

Ensuring the studio floor, mats, mirrors and communal areas are clean.

Maintaining reception, changing areas and client facilities.

Monitoring cleaning standards throughout the day.

Managing cleaning schedules and external cleaning providers where applicable.

Reporting and following up on maintenance issues.

Conducting regular equipment and facility checks.

Ensuring the studio is presented to a high standard before, during and after operating hours.

Creating a studio environment that feels professional, welcoming and premium.

13. Reporting & Performance

Monitor studio KPIs including membership growth, sales, retention, attendance and utilisation.

Provide regular performance updates to senior management.

Analyse client and business data to identify trends and opportunities.

Monitor promotional and campaign performance.

Track lead conversion and client retention.

Identify operational issues and propose solutions.

Set and work towards agreed studio targets.

Take ownership of results and proactively communicate challenges and opportunities.
