Responsibilities
This position focuses on overseeing a designated accounts list of active Japanese corporate accounts and managing the yearly renewal of general insurance contracts. The successful candidate will develop long-term customer relationships, identify clients' changing business demands, and suggest suitable insurance plans and coverage upgrades.
1. Existing Client Portfolio Management (80–90%)
Direct the yearly renewal timeline for a designated group of Japanese corporate accounts.
Establish and sustain robust customer connections to guarantee top-tier service and long-term client retention.
Understand clients' changing business needs (e.g. manpower changes, business expansion, coverage requirements) and recommend suitable insurance solutions.
Collect and evaluate pertinent client data to determine shifts in risk exposure and coordinate appropriate coverage with internal teams.
Clarify policy conditions, coverage options, and renewal proposals for customers.
Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate policy renewals.
2. Business Development (10–20%)
Assist with new business leads originating from referrals and internal sales networks.
Reply to client questions and propose appropriate insurance options based on customers' business setups.
Meet with medium to large corporate clients in person when needed (primarily for Senior Executive / Assistant Manager level).
Spot openings to broaden insurance protection and cross-sell extra products within current and prospective client accounts.
3. Other Responsibilities
Communicate with Japan HQ regarding insurance programmes, reporting and other related matters when required.
Support claims servicing department to facilitate the claim process and try to maximize clients’ satisfaction.
Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned.
Requirements
Looking with candidates with 2 Years of Experience (YOE) or more in Insurance.
Experience in client-facing sales, account management, relationship management or customer service roles.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Experience in commercial/general (non-life) insurance including corporate client management (CGI certification is required).
Experience in interacting with Japanese-speaking clients and coordinating with Japan headquarters is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates from customer-facing backgrounds who are keen to build a career in the insurance industry are also welcome to apply.
