Why this role
Awesome Free (AF) is Advocado’s deals platform. It connects Singapore F&B brands with diners hunting for deals. Since launching in Feb 2026, we’ve driven tens of thousands of claims for F&B brands across Singapore.
Consumer demand is proven and our sales playbook is in place. What we need now is a leader to build the team that scales it. You’ll hire, coach and lead our BDEs, own the merchant number, and report directly to the CEO.
Advocado powers loyalty for 600+ merchants, including Paradise Group, Dian Xiao Er and Song Fa. You start with a known brand, real data and a proven playbook. Your job is to multiply it through people.
What success looks like
- First 90 days: You’ve learned the current playbook and closed deals yourself. You’ve also set up the team’s operating rhythm: targets, weekly pipeline reviews and coaching. Your first BDE hire has been made or is in the final stages.
- By Dec 2027: You lead a team of 4 BDEs who each hit target consistently. Live merchants and live offers have grown 4x, and month-3 retention has improved by 15 points.
What you’ll own
1. Build and lead the team (your #1 priority)
- Run daily huddles. Set each rep’s priorities for the day, review yesterday’s activity and clear blockers fast.
- Run weekly pipeline and deal reviews. Check every rep’s numbers against target and coach them on specific deals.
- Coach in the field through regular ride-alongs on merchant visits, with feedback the same day.
- Hire BDEs as we scale. You’ll write the scorecards, run the interviews and own the hiring decisions.
- Onboard new reps so they’re productive within weeks, with clear monthly targets.
- Track activity as well as results (calls, visits, meetings, follow-ups) so problems show up before month-end.
- Spot underperformance early. Turn it around, or make the hard call.
- Build a team culture of self-sourcing, disciplined follow-up and qualifying hard.
2. Sharpen and scale the playbook
- Take our existing ICP, positioning, pitch and pricing, and pressure-test them against what is actually closing and staying.
- Turn what top performers do into repeatable scripts, objection handling and field tools for the whole team.
- Keep improving our merchant-facing tools: pitch deck, landing page, B2B ads, onboarding flow and merchant review deck.
3. Drive acquisition
- Carry a personal number alongside the team’s, especially on key accounts and multi-outlet F&B groups.
- Run a repeatable pipeline covering prospecting, outreach, closing and onboarding.
- Qualify hard. One merchant who fits is worth more than three who churn.
- Get offers live quickly, and make sure they’re strong enough to drive redemptions from day one.
4. Protect retention
- Grow the share of merchants still active at month 1, month 2 and month 3.
- Run regular performance reviews with merchants and recommend whether to adjust the offer or scale it.
- Report every week on pipeline, acquisition, retention and team performance, and feed what you learn back into the playbook.
You’re likely a fit if you have
- 6+ years in B2B sales or business development.
- 2+ years hiring and leading a team that carried a target. This is non-negotiable.
- Personally closed deals with SMB or merchant owners. F&B, marketplace, payments or adtech experience is ideal.
- A track record of taking an existing sales motion and scaling it through a team, with numbers to show for it.
- Run a sales team’s daily operating rhythm (huddles, activity tracking, pipeline reviews), and you enjoy it.
- Comfort with dashboards, and the ability to explain results to a business owner in plain terms.
- Bonus: a network in Singapore F&B, or startup experience.
What we offer
- S$7,500–10,000 base, plus uncapped commission and a team override (OTE S$11,000–14,000).
- Commission that rewards merchants who stay, not just merchants signed. It’s paid in two parts: at signing and when the merchant renews past month 3. Your team override works the same way.
- A direct line to the CEO, real ownership, and the mandate to build the sales team.
