Grummel Engineering LLC (*************), based in Downtown Portland, USA, is looking for a motivated and curious Structural Engineer with 0–2 years of experience to join our remote team in Malaysia.

We’re a small, collaborative structural engineering firm where early-career engineers have the opportunity to learn by participating in all phases of projects. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from early conversations with clients and architects through design, permitting, and construction.

We’re looking for someone who is excited to build a strong technical foundation, develop practical engineering judgment, and grow into greater responsibility over time while benefiting from a culture of strong mentorship.

What You’ll Do

As an early-career member of our team, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers while contributing to projects throughout the design and construction process.

• Prepare and develop schematic, permit, and construction documents.
• Work with architects, contractors, developers, artists, and homeowners.
• Collaborate with and learn from experienced engineers.

As your skills and experience develop, you’ll have opportunities to take on greater responsibility and ownership of your work.

Our Projects

Recent and ongoing work includes seismic retrofits of historic structures, residences, retail spaces, and public art, using a variety of structural systems and materials.

We work closely with architects, artists, developers, contractors, homeowners, and other project partners. This variety provides opportunities to learn not only how structures are designed, but also how good engineering fits into the larger goals of a project.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum CGPA of 3.70.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong interest in structural engineering and building design.
• Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not required. Familiarity or experience with any of the following will be considered an advantage:

• AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• U.S. structural design codes and standards.

Employment Details

• Starting Date: January 2027
• Working hours: Monday-Friday (5.00AM to 2.00PM)
• Monthly Salary: RM7,000 – RM9,000
• Monthly Allowance: Health Insurance – RM200
• Office Location: Bukit Kepayang, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan
• Default Benefits: EPF, EIS, and SOCSO
