JOB SUMMARY:
The Head of Training and Talent Development is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the organisation’s Talent Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, and Capability Development agenda.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performance Management
- Lead and manage the organisation’s performance management framework.
- Ensure consistent implementation of performance management practices across the organisation.
- Review and improve performance management processes to support a high-performance culture.
- Advise management on performance and talent-related matters.
2. Promotion & Career Development
- Manage the organisation’s promotion and career progression policy.
- Ensure promotion decisions are fair, consistent, and aligned with performance, capability, and business needs.
- Regularly review and improve career progression policies and processes.
3. Succession Planning & Talent Management
- Identify and assess high-potential employees and successors for key positions.
- Build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline for critical roles.
- Develop talent through training, exposure, job rotation, and experiential learning.
- Monitor succession planning progress and talent readiness.
4. Leadership & Competency Development
- Oversee leadership, behavioural, technical, functional, and personal effectiveness competencies.
- Lead development programmes for high-potential and succession talent.
- Identify capability gaps and implement appropriate development solutions.
5. Learning & Development
- Ensure learning and development programmes support business and organisational objectives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of development programmes.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and career development.
6. Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Partner closely with C-Suite, Heads of Departments, and senior management on talent and development matters.
- Understand business priorities and translate them into effective people development strategies.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Development / Talent Management team.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and successful implementation of talent initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organisational Development, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant hands-on experience in Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organisation Development, or related HR functions.
- Strong experience in designing and implementing Talent, Learning & Development frameworks.
- Proven experience in Performance Management, Succession Planning, Competency Management, and Talent Development.
- Strong people leadership and team management skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly understand business models and organisational needs.
