About the Role

Deer Smart Technologies is looking for a Purchasing Engineer to support procurement activities for data center construction projects. The ideal candidate should have procurement experience, preferably in the construction or engineering industry, and be able to communicate in Mandarin.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of working experience in procurement, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.

• Able to speak Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and business partners.

• Experience in MEP, HVAC, Fire Protection, Data Center, or Industrial Construction is an added advantage.

• Good negotiation, communication, coordination, and cost-control skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Knowledge of engineering materials and procurement processes.

• Familiarity with CIDB, SIRIM, and ST requirements is an added advantage.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple purchasing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Manage procurement activities according to project schedules, requirements, and budgets.

• Source suppliers, request quotations, compare prices, and negotiate for competitive pricing.

• Prepare and issue purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.

• Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and monitor their performance, quality, and delivery.

• Coordinate logistics, customs clearance, and material deliveries to project sites.

• Maintain procurement records, contracts, purchase orders, and payment documentation.

• Work closely with Project, Site, and Finance teams to support project operations.

Handle urgent purchasing requirements and material changes when necessary.
