Tanggungjawab

Company Description Malaysian Sheet Glass Sdn Bhd, part of the NSG Group, was established in 1971 as NSG’s first direct market entry into Asia. The company has grown from an initial 44% NSG stake to a wholly owned subsidiary, operating two float glass furnaces. As one of the major glass plants in Southeast Asia, Malaysian Sheet Glass plays a significant role in supporting the industrial and economic development of ASEAN countries. The organization combines global glass manufacturing expertise with strong regional presence, offering employees exposure to advanced technology, large-scale operations, and cross-border collaboration.

Role Description The Cold End Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based at the Malaysian Sheet Glass plant in Pasir Gudang. This role is responsible for overseeing cold end operations, including inspection, cutting, packing, and handling of glass products to ensure quality, safety, and production efficiency. The Cold End Engineer monitors equipment performance, troubleshoots operating issues, and coordinates maintenance activities to minimize downtime. The position involves analyzing process data, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet output and quality targets. The engineer also supports adherence to safety standards, conducts root cause analysis for defects, and assists with training and guiding cold end operators and technicians.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in glass, chemicals, or similar continuous production industries.
  • Experience with production line equipment, instrumentation, and basic maintenance practices in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles, data analysis, and problem-solving methods (e.g., root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions).
  • Ability to work effectively on-site in a plant setting, collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting shift operations when required.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and operational discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (such as Lean or Six Sigma) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in cold end or finishing operations within a float glass or similar process plant is beneficial.
