• Develop and review project cost estimates, budget allocations and financial forecasts for engineering and IT projects.
• Perform quantity measurements, material assessments and cost evaluations to support project planning and resource allocation.
• Monitor project spending against approved budgets, identify cost discrepancies and prepare regular cost performance reports for management.
• Prepare and review tender submissions, Bills of Quantities (BQ), pricing schedules and technical specifications for procurement purposes.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, conduct commercial negotiations and ensure competitive pricing.
• Assess project progress claims, interim valuations and payment applications to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Manage variation orders, additional work assessments and cost adjustments arising from project scope changes.
• Review contractual terms and provide commercial recommendations on project costs, financial exposure and potential risks.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams to resolve contractual and commercial matters.
• Maintain proper records of project costing, tender documents, contracts, claims and financial reports.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members when required.

Requirements

• Degree or recognised professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Professional accreditation such as RICS, AIQS or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying, project cost management or commercial administration within engineering or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, project budgeting, quantity measurement and financial forecasting.
• Practical experience in tender preparation, Bills of Quantities, procurement and contract administration.
• Good understanding of construction contracts, commercial terms, variation orders, progress claims and contractual disputes.
• Proficiency in QS estimating and measurement software such as CostOS, Bluebeam or equivalent applications.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Good negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple project assignments and provide guidance to junior personnel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management applications.
• Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, contractual frameworks and industry practices will be an advantage.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
