ABOUT THE CLIENT & PROJECT
Our client, a major international energy operator, is developing a large-scale ultra-deepwater greenfield oil project offshore Namibia. The development comprises a floating production unit in approximately 3,000 m of water depth, tied back to up to 40 subsea wells. The Subsea Production Systems (SPS) scope is being manufactured and delivered through the SPS Contractor's facilities, with the Company's SPS team based at the Contractor's premises in Kuala Lumpur.
MISSION
The SPS Mechanical Completion & Quality Control Coordinator ensures the readiness, conformity, mechanical completion and successful handover of SPS equipment. Reporting to the SPS Quality Lead, he/she coordinates inspection activities and supports quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, schedule, cost and HSE requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in close coordination with the SPS Quality Lead on SPS quality assurance and quality control activities, as well as equipment delivery and handover coordination.
- Keep the SPS Quality Lead and all relevant parties informed of ongoing activity status, and advise the Project Leads on relevant actions and decisions.
- Coordinate third-party inspection services through the Company's inspection framework and review the inspection reports provided.
- Perform selected QC inspections at Contractor and vendor locations.
- Perform expediting of components on the critical path.
- Monitor and coordinate the internal and external delivery and handover of SPS equipment, under the supervision of the SPS Quality Lead, including:
- Following the readiness of SPS equipment from all manufacturing facilities;
- Coordinating the release of SPS equipment in line with contractual requirements (Ready for Shipment certificates where applicable);
- Coordinating with the Contractor's logistics team on the location and delivery status of SPS equipment;
- Coordinating with the Contractor's Mechanical Completion team the compilation and control of release documentation (dispatch dossiers and certificates) for handover to the Company or the Company's other Contractors;
- Supporting the SPS Interface Engineers with the Company Provided Items (CPI) handover process to the Company's other Contractors;
- Coordinating the handover of SPS equipment in accordance with the Contract.
- Support the SPS Quality Lead in project quality assurance activities, including audits, vendor approval, quality action follow-up and NCR / TQ / RCA / Lessons Learned registers.
- Participate in the close-out of the Contract(s) in line with Project procedures.
- Work proactively and by anticipation, motivating counterparts and working diligently to meet Project targets.
- Promote innovation and a fit-for-purpose approach; seek optimisation and savings throughout the project phases while focusing on cost without compromising QHSE objectives.
HSE, Ethics & Compliance
- Promote and comply with the Company's values, ethics and code of conduct.
- Comply with Project HSE site instructions and policies.
- Report HSE anomalies, deficiencies, incidents and near misses through the anomaly reporting system.
- Ensure office security and safety are maintained and report any deficiencies to HSE.
- Carry out HSE inspections and audits as required, and regularly attend Project HSE meetings, training, audits and inspections.
- Provide feedback on HSE conditions and actively promote HSE and safe working practices.
CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
- Ultra-deepwater development (approx. 3,000 m water depth) with a floating production unit designed for approx. 160,000 bbl/d of oil, including associated gas re-injection for reservoir pressure maintenance.
- Permanently spread-moored unit engineered for station-keeping in relatively harsh Atlantic conditions, with up to 40 subsea wells tied back via the subsea architecture.
- International and multicultural environment.
DURATION & LOCATION
- Location: SPS Contractor premises – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Duration: 1 year minimum, up to 4 years (renewable)
- Status: Local contract – residential, Kuala Lumpur
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Engineering degree or equivalent, with hands-on experience in SPS equipment.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in quality control, inspection, mechanical completion and/or equipment delivery within subsea or offshore projects.
- Proficiency in English; French is a plus.
- Rigorous attention to detail, strong organisational skills and effective communication abilities.
- Team player, comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
