We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Finance Executive / Senior Finance Lead to drive financial strategy and oversee day-to-day accounting operations. In this role, you will dedicate 70% of your focus to strategic finance, including project costing, dynamic forecasting, and investment analysis for complex offshore, engineering, or procurement contracts. The remaining 30% will focus on leadership and compliance, where you will directly manage one Accounts Executive and oversee transactional accounting (AP/AR) executed within the Odoo ERP system. This position acts as a vital commercial partner to the GM and Director, identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing cash burn rates, and mitigating financial risks to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Costing, Forecasting & Strategic Finance (70%)

• Project Costing & Variance Analysis: Track, analyze, and control project expenditures against established baselines for offshore, engineering, or procurement contracts.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the GM/Director to design annual corporate budgets and build dynamic, monthly rolling cash flow and revenue forecasts.
• Financial Modeling & Decision Support: Construct quantitative financial evaluations to assess project profitability, return on investment (ROI), and risk factors for upcoming tenders or capital expenditures.
• Working Capital Management: Analyze cash burn rates and manage short-term liquidity demands to ensure project execution remains uninhibited.
• Management Reporting: Prepare monthly variance reports and high-level financial presentations directly for the Director, highlighting commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.

2. Team Leadership, Accounting Oversight & Compliance (30%)

• People Management: Direct, mentor, and oversee one Accounts Executive, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely task completion.
• Odoo System Oversight: Review and approve standard bookkeeping inputs, AP/AR activities, and journal entries processed by the team within Odoo.
• Audit & Tax Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for corporate tax filings, SST submissions, and external statutory audits.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related professional qualification .
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in project-based industries (e.g., Engineering, Oil & Gas and Maritime).
• Technical Skills: Familiar with Odoo ERP covering core accounting, AP, and AR modules. Advanced financial modeling skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
• Leadership: Proven capability or strong readiness to manage, mentor, and review the work of an Accounts and Finance Executive.
• Tax & Compliance: Solid knowledge of Malaysian statutory requirements, including SST submissions, corporate tax schedules, and external statutory audit processes.
• Attributes: Strong commercial acumen, analytical mindset, and the communication skills necessary to present high-level financial data directly to senior leadership (GM/Director).

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
