About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to lead our Finance function and drive business performance through strong financial management, commercial insights, and operational excellence.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of 6-8 finance professionals and play a critical role in strengthening financial controls, management reporting, manufacturing costing, working capital management, and sustainability reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys both strategic business partnering and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Operations & Governance
- Lead month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit obligations.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and balance sheet governance.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Business Performance
- Deliver timely and accurate management reporting with actionable business insights.
- Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, profitability, cash flow, and working capital performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and scenario analysis.
- Partner with business leaders to drive informed decision-making and performance improvement.
Manufacturing Costing & Profitability
- Lead standard and actual costing activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Analyse material, labour, overhead, scrap, absorption, and production variances.
- Improve visibility of customer, product, and SKU profitability.
- Support pricing strategies and margin optimisation initiatives.
Working Capital & Cash Management
- Monitor and improve receivables collection and credit management processes.
- Drive inventory management and provisioning controls.
- Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and reporting.
- Support initiatives to improve DSO, inventory turns, and overall cash conversion.
Sustainability Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the company's sustainability and climate-related reporting processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional ESG data collection, validation, and reporting.
- Establish robust reporting controls, governance, and audit trails.
- Ensure readiness for sustainability assurance and evolving regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team.
- Establish clear KPIs, succession planning, and cross-functional coverage.
- Drive ERP optimisation, reporting automation, and process improvements.
- Reduce manual processes and enhance the use of analytics and business intelligence tools.
What We're Looking For
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or MIA is highly preferred.
- Approximately 10–15 years of progressive Finance experience, including leadership of a Finance team.
- Strong manufacturing Finance background, with hands-on costing, inventory and working-capital experience.
- Solid financial control, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and statutory compliance experience.
- Exposure to sustainability/ESG reporting, climate disclosure, integrated reporting or assurance readiness strongly preferred.
- Strong ERP, Excel and analytical capability; Power BI or similar tools advantageous.
- Able to challenge constructively, work cross-functionally and translate financial and ESG information into management actions.
