Job Purpose

The Logistics Operations Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring daily logistics activities to ensure deliveries, transportation, manpower, and vehicles are utilized efficiently and delivered according to operational requirements.

The role supports the Operations Manager by providing accurate operational planning, monitoring performance, identifying potential issues, and coordinating corrective actions to maintain service quality and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Operations Planning

  • Prepare daily delivery and transportation plans based on customer requirements and operational priorities.
  • Allocate vehicles, drivers, and manpower according to workload and route requirements.
  • Plan delivery schedules, routes, loading sequences, and dispatch times.
  • Monitor daily operational activities and ensure planned trips are executed.
  • Adjust plans when there are changes in customer requirements, vehicle availability, manpower, traffic, or other operational issues.

2. Delivery & Transport Monitoring

  • Monitor deliveries from dispatch until completion.
  • Track delivery status, delays, failed deliveries, returns, and other exceptions.
  • Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and relevant departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure delivery information and operational records are updated accurately and on time.
  • Escalate critical delays or operational problems to the Operations Manager.

3. Fleet Planning & Coordination

  • Monitor vehicle availability and utilization.
  • Coordinate vehicle allocation based on capacity, route, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, breakdowns, and availability.
  • Coordinate with workshop or maintenance teams when vehicles require repair.
  • Identify opportunities to improve vehicle utilization and reduce unnecessary operating costs.

4. Driver & Manpower Planning

  • Prepare daily driver and manpower schedules.
  • Monitor driver attendance, leave, overtime, and availability.
  • Allocate drivers according to route and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate replacement manpower when drivers are absent or unavailable.
  • Monitor driver performance and highlight recurring operational or safety issues.

5. Exception & Problem Management

  • Identify operational risks before they affect deliveries.
  • Record and monitor delivery failures, vehicle breakdowns, manpower shortages, loading delays, customer complaints, and other incidents.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with responsible departments.
  • Maintain an accurate exception log and follow up on outstanding actions.

6. Cost & Resource Control

  • Monitor fuel consumption, tolls, overtime, maintenance costs, and outsourced transportation costs.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in controlling transportation and logistics expenses.
  • Identify inefficient routes, excessive overtime, underutilized vehicles, and other cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare operational cost information and reports when required.

7. Reporting & KPI Monitoring

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics operation reports.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as:
  • On-time delivery
  • Delivery success rate
  • Vehicle utilization
  • Vehicle availability
  • Fuel efficiency
  • Delivery failure rate
  • Customer complaints
  • Overtime
  • Transportation cost
  • Highlight performance gaps and recommend improvement actions to the Operations Manager.

8. Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery planning, route efficiency, resource utilization, and operational processes.
  • Support implementation of new logistics procedures and systems.
  • Maintain accurate operational data for analysis and decision-making.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects within the logistics operation.

RequirementsEducation

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, fleet operations, delivery planning, or supply chain operations. Fresh Graduate encourage to apply

Pay: RM1,607.75 - RM3,000.00 per month
