Smartlink Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is a Malaysian contract manufacturing company with manufacturing facilities in Shah Alam (Headquarters) and Penang. We specialize in cable harnesses, control boxes and panels, electrical and mechanical module assemblies, and system integration, providing one-stop manufacturing solutions to customers across various industries.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Junior Executive, Cable Harness Material Planning & System Update to support our operations.

The successful candidate will initially be based at our Seksyen 32, Shah Alam facility before transitioning to our new Sijangkang facility in Q*************.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

A. Material Planning

• Review production orders and material requirements.
• Check BOM requirements against available stock.
• Prepare material requirements based on production schedules.
• Monitor material availability for production.
• Identify material shortages, excess stock, and risks.
• Coordinate with Warehouse and Purchasing on material availability.
• Follow up on pending and critical materials.
• Support urgent material requirements based on production needs.

B. BOM & Production Order Checking

• Check BOM and production orders for accuracy.
• Verify part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and materials.
• Identify differences between BOM and available stock.
• Coordinate with Engineering on unclear BOM or technical details.
• Ensure BOM changes are updated in the system.
• Keep records of BOM issues and changes.

C. Material Shortage Management

• Prepare and update the Material Shortage List.
• Monitor material shortages for production orders.
• Follow up with Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering, and relevant PICs.
• Highlight critical shortages that may affect production.
• Provide regular shortage status updates.
• Record shortage and resolution status.

D. ERP / System Update

• Update production orders and material transactions in the ERP/MRP system.
• Record material issuance, consumption, transfer, and production status.
• Ensure system updates are accurate and completed on time.
• Check system data against physical stock when required.
• Follow up on system discrepancies and corrections.

E. Production Coordination

• Coordinate with Production on material readiness.
• Provide material availability and shortage updates.
• Monitor material requirements against production plans.
• Highlight potential production delays.
• Support urgent production and customer requirements.

F. Warehouse Coordination

• Coordinate with Warehouse on material availability and kitting.
• Verify material part numbers and quantities when required.
• Follow up on material kitting and transfer to Production.
• Report discrepancies between system and physical stock.
• Support investigation of missing, excess, damaged, or incorrect materials.

G. Purchasing Coordination

• Inform Purchasing of material shortages and requirements.
• Follow up on purchase orders and delivery dates.
• Monitor incoming materials against production needs.
• Highlight critical and long-lead-time materials.
• Support prioritisation of urgent material requirements.

H. Cable Harness Material Control

• Monitor cables, terminals, connectors, sleeves, labels, heat shrink, and other harness materials.
• Check material requirements against production orders and BOM.
• Ensure material specifications, part numbers, and quantities are correct.
• Support material traceability when required.
• Monitor material consumption and identify unusual usage or shortages.

Skills & Requirements :

• Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Material Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of BOM, material requirements, and inventory control.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and well-organised.
• Experience in cable harness, wire assembly, or manufacturing is an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
