Job Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, labelling, preparing and handling patient specimens such as blood, urine and other samples.
• Ensure specimens and request forms are correctly matched and properly recorded.
• Assist with basic laboratory procedures and sample processing under supervision.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate laboratory and patient records.
• Assist doctors and nurses during consultations and basic clinical procedures.
• Take and record patients’ vital signs when required.
• Assist with blood taking, specimen collection and other clinical duties according to training and competency.
• Prepare consultation rooms, treatment areas and clinical equipment.
• Assist with patient registration and provide courteous assistance to patients.
• Maintain cleanliness, infection control and proper organisation of the laboratory and clinical areas.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of clinical and biohazardous waste.
• Monitor laboratory and clinical supplies and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required.
• Follow all hospital policies, SOPs, safety and infection-control requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Assistant, Nursing, Science or related field.
• Previous experience in a hospital, clinic or laboratory is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic computer skills and good documentation skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible, disciplined, detail-oriented and able to work as part of a team.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Pay: From RM1,700.00 per month
