Position Summary

The Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting the CFO in managing the full spectrum of finance, accounting, treasury, taxation, compliance, and financial reporting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting business growth, and assisting with corporate governance and listing-readiness initiatives.

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise and experience within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management

• Oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance operations.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
• Produce accurate financial reports, analyses, and performance insights for management decision-making.
• Monitor profitability, product margins, manufacturing costs, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and relevant statutory requirements.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and investigate variances.
• Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Support strategic planning through financial modelling and business analysis.

Manufacturing Finance & Cost Management

• Monitor inventory valuation, costing, and manufacturing overhead allocations.
• Review production costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Support inventory controls and working capital management.
• Collaborate closely with operations and supply chain teams to improve financial and operational performance.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Monitor banking facilities, financing arrangements, and working capital requirements.
• Maintain effective relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Ensure sufficient funding to support ongoing business operations and expansion plans.

Compliance, Audit & Governance

• Coordinate annual statutory audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and relevant authorities.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks across the organization.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• Ensure effective workload planning and timely completion of finance deliverables.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, or equivalent is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of finance and accounting experience.
• At least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• Exposure to costing, inventory management, and operational finance will be advantageous.
• Experience in IPO preparation, corporate exercises, public-listed companies, or Bursa Malaysia reporting requirements is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of MFRS, taxation, audit, and financial reporting standards.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing costing and inventory accounting.
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
• Familiarity with internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance practices.
