Job Summary:
The Server Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the company’s server infrastructure. This role involves managing both physical and virtual servers, ensuring uptime, performing regular backups, troubleshooting network and system issues, and implementing best practices for system performance and security. The role is not limited to servers and may require participation in other areas of infrastructure and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Monitor server performance, resource utilization, and availability.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file permissions.
- Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure system security through regular patching, antivirus updates, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
- Maintain server documentation including topology, configuration, and change logs.
- Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.
Requirements:
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in server or system administration.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.
- Experience with server monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG).
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, firewalls).
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Additional Information:
- Working hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Availability for on-call or after-hours support when required.
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Server+ will be an added advantage.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
