We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks.Accounting clerks are responsible for routine data entry in financial records such as accounts payable, invoicing, and receivable. Requirements
1. Malaysia based final year undergraduates/post graduates in accounting, business and economics, with a high GPA score.
2. Successful clearing of Internship interview
This full-time on-site Accountant role is located in Johor Bahru, and involves responsibilities such as leading the team and mainly assisting superior on both company level and group level reporting, managing data sets and perform data analysis to generate meaningful report and providing constructive opinions.
Working hours: 9.00am to 6.00pm (Monday – Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
• Assisting superior to oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, adhering to accounting principles and local regulations.
2. Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and Bursa Malaysia listing regulations.
3. Financial Analysis:
• Analyze financial data to provide insights into the company's performance.
• Make recommendations for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
4. Cash Flow Management:
• Manage cash flow and liquidity to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
• Optimize working capital by monitoring and controlling receivables and payables.
5. Taxation and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time.
6. Audit Coordination:
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
• Implement audit recommendations to improve financial processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (audit experience from previous job is required).
2. Several years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
3. Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
4. Experience with financial reporting and compliance requirements for Local authority requirements.
5. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
7. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and attention to detail and accuracy
-This position is responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise in all the general accounting process flows and procedures in line with corporate requirement to provide data support for management decision and the required accounting standard.
-Ensure compliance with all internal controls while delivering activities against agreed service levels.
-Ensures all the financial accounting activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and standards in a timely and accurate manner.
-Actively participate in internal and external audits and verify the accuracy of information.
-Provide technical expertise in Record to Report process, effectively resolving escalations and complex queries.
-Review Financial Accounting reports, reconciliation, variance analysis, etc.
-Develop required schedules, coordinate and compiling supporting documentation as needed for internal and external audit.
-Maintain and build a relationship with internal and external stakeholders and any other third parties.
-Furnish tax information as required for the yearly tax computation and estimate tax payable.
-Involve in the asset creation and updating process; edit settlement rules between WBS and definitive asset.
-Provide support to the BU for the asset tagging process.
-Maintain and implement the Asset capitalisation policy and procedure.
-Launch the monthly closing steps for asset module.
-Participation in the project management covering master data creation and capitalisation date.
-To assume the role of CTA and Fixed Assets Accounting according to the business role defined in the Financial Target Operating Model (FTOM)
-Recognized degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant disciplines; or professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA
- 5 years relevant work experience
- Experience in Shared Services Centre will be advantageous
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of proper accounting treatment for record to report transactions and activities
