Role Description

1. Mechanical Engineering & Technical Review

• Review mechanical specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, drawings and vendor documents for valves, heat exchangers and related equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable API, ASME and project requirements.

• Prepare technical evaluations, material requisitions, clarification responses and compliance/deviation registers.

2. Order Management & Procurement Support

• Handle mechanical orders from enquiry and technical review through purchase order, delivery, inspection and close-out.

• Coordinate suppliers, purchasing and clients on quotations, technical submittals, documentation, lead times and delivery status.

3. Vendor & Client Coordination

• Review supplier offers against client requirements; resolve technical queries and follow up on deviations or outstanding documents.

• Liaise with manufacturers on drawings, material certificates, test reports, inspection requirements and final documentation.

4. Quality, Inspection & Delivery

• Coordinate ITPs, FAT/inspection activities and quality dossiers; follow up on NCRs, punch items and corrective actions.

• Track order progress, identify technical or delivery risks and provide timely updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders.

5. Project & Site Engineering Support

• Support installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, when required.

• Assist with site surveys, vendor visits, handover records and project close-out documentation.

• Support supplier performance reviews, lessons learned and improvement of mechanical order execution.

• Ensure compliance with approved specifications, applicable codes, HSE requirements and company procedures.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

• 3–6 years of relevant mechanical engineering, project execution or technical order-handling experience.

• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial engineering projects is preferred.

• Prior experience in valve and/or heat exchanger projects, including engineering, procurement, installation or commissioning activities, will be considered an added advantage.

• Able to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment datasheets, material specifications and vendor technical offers.

• Familiar with international mechanical and piping codes and standards, including applicable API and ASME requirements (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5 and relevant API valve standards). Knowledge of TEMA and heat exchanger standards is an added advantage.

• Competent in technical bid evaluation, procurement follow-up, document control and order progress reporting.

• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Project is an advantage.

• Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills; proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
