Role Description The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (Substation) is a full-time, on-site role based in Shah Alam. This role is responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing electrical and instrumentation systems for substations, including equipment selection, layout, and integration with control systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing technical documentation and drawings, performing calculations, supporting installation and commissioning activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations. The engineer will troubleshoot system issues, coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians. The role also involves conducting site inspections, supporting project planning and scheduling, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices and solutions.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Electrical Engineering and Electricity knowledge, particularly related to substations and power systems.
• Candidates should possess solid Instrumentation and Process Control skills, including experience with measurement devices, control systems, and industrial automation.
• Candidates should possess proven Troubleshooting abilities for electrical and instrumentation faults, system performance issues, and equipment failures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field; professional registration or certification is an advantage.
• Several years of relevant experience in substation projects, industrial power systems, or similar environments.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE), and strong understanding of safety and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Effective communication skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and readiness to perform on-site work and field inspections.
