Role Description The Senior Drafter cum Designer is a full-time on-site role based in Shah Alam. This position is responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and 3D models for electrical, instrumentation, and measurement systems in accordance with project specifications and standards. Daily tasks include reviewing technical documents, coordinating with engineers to refine design concepts, updating drawings based on field feedback, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry codes. The role also involves preparing as-built documentation, assisting in design optimization for energy-efficient and explosion-proof solutions, and supporting project teams with technical drafting and design input throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in CAD drafting and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, 2D/3D modeling) and ability to produce accurate technical drawings and layouts.
• Experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and best practices related to energy-efficient systems, metering, and industrial installations.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and technical documents, and translate them into clear, constructible drawings.
• Experience working with industrial or explosion-proof environments and familiarity with relevant safety and compliance requirements is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, project managers, and site teams.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in EPC or engineering services companies in electrical/instrumentation fields is highly preferred.
