Job Description
- Lead the design and development of new products and product enhancements using SolidWorks
- Perform engineering calculations to verify structural integrity, load capacity, deflection and component performance
- Optimize product designs for strength, material efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Select suitable materials and surface finishes based on performance and durability requirements
- Apply GD&T principles and tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function and interchangeability
- Design products for manufacturing processes including roll forming, punching, bending, welding and finishing
- Define tooling, fixtures and production requirements for new product launches
- Plan and execute product testing, validation and R&D activities, including FEA and physical load testing
- Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, technical reports, specifications and product documentation
- Act as design authority by reviewing drawings, mentoring junior team members and providing technical support to production, quality, sales and customers
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical or product design experience within a manufacturing environment
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including sheet metal, weldments, assemblies and drawings
- Strong engineering calculation skills related to structural design, stress analysis and load assessment
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes such as roll forming, punching, bending and welding
- Good understanding of material selection, coatings and corrosion protection systems
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis and engineering drawing standards
- Experience in product testing, validation, FEA and design verification methods
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and technical specifications
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in technical English
