We are an established M&E consultancy firm in Puchong Selangor seeking a M& E Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing M&E engineering design for a variety of developments including high-rise buildings, industrial infrastructure, and factory projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of M&E building services systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, plumbing, and ELV, for large-scale commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
• Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM platforms.
• Oversee and guide junior designers/engineers, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Perform and validate engineering calculations (e.g., cooling load, electrical load, system sizing) to ensure optimal design performance and energy efficiency.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants to deliver integrated and clash-free designs.
• Manage submissions and approvals with local authorities, ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulations including Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia, and Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL).
• Attend client meetings, provide technical advisory, and present design proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project objectives.
• Review contractor shop drawings, technical submissions, and method statements; provide comments and approvals in line with design intent.
• Conduct site inspections, witness testing and commissioning (T&C), and ensure installations comply with specifications and quality standards.
• Drive value engineering and sustainability initiatives to optimize cost, performance, and energy efficiency of M&E systems.
• Ensure proper documentation, project tracking, and timely delivery of design milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 6–10 years of relevant experience in M&E consultancy for building services projects.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian codes, standards, and submission processes (e.g., UBBL, MS standards, authority requirements).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination tools (Navisworks or equivalent).
• Proven experience in leading design coordination and managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Solid technical expertise in HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, and plumbing design.
• Experience in authority submissions and liaison with regulatory bodies and local councils.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and lead design teams effectively.
• Registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia; PE certification is an added advantage.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
