About the role

YB Woodwork Industry (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis. Based in Simpang Renggam, Johor, this role is fundamental to maintaining our high standards of product quality and ensuring that all items meet our rigorous specifications before they reach our customers. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical part in our commitment to excellence, acting as a key safeguard in our production process and contributing directly to customer satisfaction and brand reputation.

Key responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough inspections of woodwork products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications

2. Measure and test products using precision instruments and equipment to verify dimensions, finish, and structural integrity

3. Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality control records

4. Identify defects, inconsistencies, and non-conforming materials, and escalate issues to production supervisors and management

5. Perform visual and functional testing to detect surface imperfections, damage, or assembly issues

6. Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions

7. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the inspection area and ensure proper storage of inspection equipment

8. Participate in quality audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

9. Monitor inventory of raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are maintained

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Control Technician, or similar role within manufacturing or woodworking industries

2. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or deviations from specifications

3. Proficiency with quality control equipment and measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges

4. Knowledge of quality standards and best practices relevant to the woodwork or manufacturing sector

5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specification documents

6. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

7. Basic mathematical skills for taking measurements and calculating tolerances

8. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment

9. Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe workplace

10. Preferred: Experience with quality management systems (such as ISO 9001) or similar certifications
