2. Procurement & Material Management
- Prepare material take-offs and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for procurement.
- Source suppliers and negotiate prices for construction materials.
- Manage purchase orders and coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely delivery of materials.
3. Site-Based Cost Control
- Monitor and control construction costs on-site to prevent overruns.
- Verify material usage and reconcile with deliveries and inventory.
- Track waste and losses to identify cost inefficiencies.
4. Contract Administration
- Draft, evaluate, and manage sub-contractor and supplier contracts.
- Administer contractual claims, variations, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, project timelines, and quality standards.
5. Valuation & Payments
- Measure work completed on-site and prepare interim payment applications.
- Certify contractor/supplier invoices and manage final accounts.
- Assist in resolving disputes related to payment or project scope.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of site expenditures, material usage, and procurement logs.
- Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial reviews for project managers and stakeholders.
- Track project progress in relation to cost and timeline.
7. Collaboration & Coordination
- Liaise with site engineers, project managers, architects, and suppliers.
- Attend site meetings to stay updated on progress and material needs.
- Coordinate with inventory/warehouse teams to monitor stock levels and avoid delays
8.Supplier & Subcontractor Management
- Evaluate supplier/subcontractor performance and maintain approved vendor lists.
- Administer sub-contractor's/supplier's claims, variations and change orders.
- Monitor compliance with specifications, standards, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure materials meet quality requirements through site inspections or lab testing coordination.
9. Regulatory Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all purchases and site activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
