Main Responsibilities
• Responsible for mechanical design of automated machines.
• To propose suitable concept to handle automated processes.
• To generate overall design concepts as well as detailed design items.
• To liaise with suppliers for components to be integrated into the system.
• To liaise with customers for all specifications of machines.
• To prepare the fabrication drawings, layouts and BOM.
• To do the FDR (final design review) with customer.
• To support the production team during the machine setup.
• To support setup on-site and carry out commissioning process.
• To guide and lead a small team of mechanical design engineers in handling large
projects.
• To involve and support sales team on automation machine concept and proposal
during RFQ.
• To lead and guide the mechanical team in handling complex machine design.
Requirements
• Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6-8 years working experience in the automation field.
• Good with Microsoft Windows, Office and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of 3D design software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
• Able to work independently and willing to work in a challenging & demanding work
environment.
• Must be a hands-on person, especially during the machine debug stage.
• Possess project management and job coordination skills.
• Must be a team player as you will be working with a team of engineers and technicians.
• Good communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Works well in a team environment and is able to work in challenging situations.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas.
• Good leadership skills are an added advantage
